Buy Rice Back
Buy Rice Back is a social enterprise making beautiful bags and accessories from old Indian rice sacks. These colourful rice bags are usually turned into cleaning rags when finished with, but founders Renee and Tim felt that they were worthy of more. They also believe that education is the most effective tool to break the vicious cycle of poverty, so profits from sales support the work of My Name is Kumar Foundation, who provide homes and education to children in South India who would have otherwise been forced into a life of begging. Selling one upcycled rice bag earns enough money to buy one 25kg bag of rice, which can feed 37 children four meals each.
